The future of Carson Wentz is yet to be resolved. The Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback suffered a difficult season last year. By the tail end of the year, he was benched in favor of backup quarterback Jalen Hurts.
What’s more, the firing of Doug Pederson as Head Coach has only sealed Wentz’s fate. However, his trade hasn’t moved forward as expected.
NFL analyst Peter King spoke to Rich Eisen about Carson Wentz’s trade. He revealed that the Eagles‘ Vice President Howie Roseman is taking his time with the trade agreement.

The Eagles’ front office is in no rush to make any kind of decision. The trade deadline will be active for another month, and the Eagles can wait for the best offer they receive.
He said, “He cooled honestly because Howie Roseman is doing what a smart General Manager has to do. There’s no rush to this, you don’t have to make your decision for another five weeks until March 19th. So you don’t have to trade him now, no one is doing anything now.”

King added that the lack of clarity surrounding the off-season plans helps the Eagles’ efforts. Additionally, he also added that the two teams that have shown interest in Wentz are the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears.
However, the Colts, according to King, are not going to end up getting Wentz, because they aren’t desperate for him. “There’s no off-season or anything, probably won’t even be a regular off-season anyway, so Howie Roseman can just sit there and wait until either Chicago or Indianapolis ups its offer.
“I doubt it will be Indy, but that’s just an absolute gut feeling. I don’t think they’re as desperate even though they really want Wentz, I don’t think they’re as desperate as Chicago is going to be.”

He added that the Chicago Bears franchise is in dire need of a superstar. “Because Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy have to win yesterday.
“And I don’t think Chris Ballard and Frank Wright could have a 2-14 season, and Jimmy Irsay would say I wouldn’t trade my two guys for anybody. That’s the difference.”
