On February 8, 2021, the infallible Tennis GOAT Roger Federer went all out in praising Tom Brady following a crushing Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Federer was taken aback by Tom Brady’s 7th Super Bowl championship and 5th MVP award. Tennis’ ballet genius, who literally transformed the grass court into a paragon of artistry with his stunning backhands, left an encouraging message for Braddy on his own Instagram account.

Federer posted two side-by-side photos following Brady’s age-defying performance in last year’s Super Bowl. One is with Mrs. Brady, and the other is with Tom-Terrific himself. The caption read: What an inspiring achievement. [Tom Brady] Age is just a number”

With retirement announcements imminent, Brady won the second Super Bowl for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, defeating quarterback Patrick Mahomes in a 31-9 rout. The QB’s final Super Bowl appearance at 44 was incredible. Which made Federer use his post to downplay the age factor associated with athletics.

Fast forward to September 15th, 2022. Roger Federer has announced his intention to retire after a career spanning 24 years. With 103 titles, including 20 grand slams, the undisputed emperor of magnificent simplistic racket moves will play his final professional level game next week in London in the Laver Cup.

 

The news of this sporting greatness saddened sports fans all over the world. One of them is the NFL‘s favorite shot caller. After the big announcement, Brady took to Instagram to express his gratitude to Federer.

“Always respectful of everybody, and it meant a lot. He cared a lot,” Brady mentioned. “He maximized his opportunities. That’s all we can all ask of ourselves.”

The QB also announced his retirement earlier this year but returned to the team 40 days later. Brady’s current fitness and form at 45 is a sight to behold and an inspiration to many other athletes. But, with one GOAT stepping down, how long will the other one go for?
