The Fifa World Cup fever has been spreading all across the globe, as social media is buzzing. From the football vs soccer debate to Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi debate, this world cup has garnered plenty of attention already. Meanwhile, away from the World Cup, the recent news about Messi has shocked the entire world.

According to the latest reports, one of the greatest soccer players ever, Lionel Messi, is nearing a deal to join the MLS club Inter Miami FC, the club co-owned by former Manchester United and LA Galaxy player David Beckham. After hearing the news, former NFL star Pat McAfee took a firm stance regarding soccer.

Earlier, the official Twitter handle of Bleacher Report posted the news about Lionel Messi possibly joining Inter Miami FC. Moreover, if Beckham’s club manages to sign Messi, he will become the highest-paid player in MLS history.

After seeing the news, former NFL punter turned WWE superstar, McAfee, took to Twitter and posted,IT’S OUR SPORT NOW.

Notably, there have been many debates on Twitter and other social media platforms regarding Football vs Soccer. Recently, the USMNT drew against the England soccer team in the Group B match in the World Cup. After that, many of the US soccer fans mocked the English team regarding their performance. Moreover, fans inside the stadium were chanting ‘It’s called soccer’.

Maybe McAfee was referring to that debate, as he expressed his opinion on Twitter. Also, if Messi comes to America, it will be a massive thing for American soccer and the MLS. Moreover, it will be a huge deal for the broadcasters to telecast those matches. However, as per the latest reports, Messi has yet to sign a deal with the Miami side.

Currently, he is playing at the Paris Saint-Germain and his contract will end in June 2023. Messi has shown interest in playing in the MLS in the past and Miami could be a perfect destination for him, as they own a house there as well.

McAfee predicted USMNT’s win in the Qatar World Cup

Previously, McAfee predicted that the USMNT team will win the World Cup in Qatar this year. Also, he talked about beating Wales in the group and predicting part 2 of the 1776 American revolution.

So far, nothing has happened as the USMNT drew both of their opening matches against Wales and England, respectively. If they want to reach the round of 16, they have to beat Iran in their final group game.
