The Houston Texans organization is going through all sorts of chaos since the midway stage of the 2020 NFL season. They parted ways with HC/GM Bill O’Brien who went 4 games without a win at the start of the season itself. Romeo Crennel was appointed as the Interim Coach in his stead, but could only manage to steer the team to a 4-12 record.
Amidst all the uncertainty surrounding the future of quarterback Deshaun Watson, the Texans have appointed Baltimore Ravens Assistant Head Coach David Culley as their new Head Coach for the upcoming season. But is that cause for celebration or concern? Here’s what NFL insider Adam Schefter has to say.

NFL Network correspondent Adam Schefter appeared alongside former NFL cornerback Domonique Foxworth on the latest installment of ESPN’s Get Up. He went off on a lengthy rant with respect to the formerly vacant Head Coach position in Houston.
He said, “It was the least desirable job in this head coaching cycle, I would make the argument it’s the least desirable coaching job in the NFL. You mentioned the owner, the general manager had no idea what he was stepping into.
“When he was hired away from the New England Patriots. It was only a couple of days after that word got out that Deshaun Watson wanted no part of the organization.
“This was not a desirable job and I don’t recall I could be wrong. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. I don’t recall David Culley ever having interviewed for a head coaching job before. So this, I think may have been and if I’m wrong, let me know.

“It may have been the very first head coaching interview that he’s done. So good for him that he got the job. Everybody wants to be a head coach in the NFL,” Schefter said on the show.
Watson continues to be linked with a move away from the Texans in the coming weeks. Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers, Washington Football Team, and Chicago Bears are rumored to be interested in potential trade deals.
