The Cleveland Browns are looking to continue their spectacular playoff run. Despite not having the best chances to reach the Playoffs, the Browns were able to secure a playoff spot.

And in the NFL Wildcard round, they shockingly defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers to advance further. And now they face their toughest challenge, defending champions Kansas City Chiefs.

NFL analyst Ryan Clark spoke about the Browns’ upcoming game against the Cheifs. Clark outlined what the Browns needed to do in order to defeat the Chiefs.

He believes that the Browns will not be able to shut down Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on the offensive end.

“You know it’s going to be difficult. It’s going to have to be a huge game of the front 4 of the Cleveland Browns. And we’ve watched them dominate games at times, especially Miles Garrett.

“But you have to get to Patrick Mahomes. I don’t expect them to stop Patrick Mahomes, I don’t expect this team to keep the Kansas City Chiefs under 28 points.”

Clark added that Baker Mayfield will have to carry much of the offensive load. “So then it falls on Baker Mayfield. Let’s go back to the one game that Patrick Mahomes lost this season.

“It wasn’t that the Las Vegas Raiders did a great job and passed defense early on in the game. But there was a stretch where they were creating turnovers, they were creating pressure.”

Cleveland Browns need to work hard against the Chiefs

He explained how Derek Carr performed well against the Cheifs to hand them their only loss this season. Clark believes that Mayfield will have to emulate Carr’s performance and take the fight right to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

“And Derek Carr was hitting big plays against the Kansas City Chiefs. Carr had 5 plays of over 40 yards in that game. And that’s what Baker Mayfield is going to have to do.

“Mayfield is going to have to stand across with Patrick Mahomes, understand that it can’t just be about running the football. He’s going to have to go toe-to-toe with him…”

Clark explained that the Browns need to help shut down the Chiefs. He thinks that the Browns must step up to the big moments in order to be able to defeat the Chiefs.

He finished, “Defensively, you have to come up with a play, you have to come up with a turnover, you need to come up with a strip fumble.

“It’s not about stopping the Kansas City Chiefs the entire game, it’s about coming up in critical situational football moments and that’s going to be on the front 4 of the Cleveland Browns.”

Can the Cleveland Browns continue their miracle run in the Playoffs? Defeating the defending champions will be no easy task. But the Browns have proven that they are capable of a surprise.
