San Francisco 49ers endured a tough outing in the NFL this year. They made the Super Bowl event last, where they suffered heartbreak at the hands of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. The 49ers finished last in the NFC West this year with a 6-10 record. They dealt with injuries to key players over the course of the season.

Kyle Shanahan’s boys will look to bounce back in 2021. But as they continue to work on their offseason goals, 49ers Enterprises President, Paraag Marathe, is making strides on the business side of things at the Bay. The Red and Gold upped their investment in Premier League outfit Leeds United from 10 percent to 37 percent earlier this week.
In doing so, Marathe is now the Vice-Chairman of Leeds United. Here’s what the San Francisco 49ers executive said after he signed this new business deal.
“Our 49ers Enterprises team has always shared Andrea’s vision for constructing a powerful and winning club in the most competitive football league in the world, and the experience of the last three seasons has been more exhilarating than we could have ever imagined.
“The hard work and bold leadership demonstrated by Andrea and his talented team has restored Leeds United’s rightful place in the Premier League and we look forward to playing an even bigger role in supporting their efforts to climb the table this year and into the future,” Marathe added.

Marcelo Bielsa’s boys are currently 12th in the Premier League table. They have 7 wins, 2 draws, and 9 losses from 18 games in the English top-flight this season. They continue to push for a spot in the top half of the league table. A struggling Newcastle outfit host Leeds at St. James Park on Tuesday.
