The morale in the Houston Texans locker room was buzzing ahead of the 2020 NFL season. Star quarterback Deshaun Watson had signed a multi-million four-year extension, which made him one of the best-paid players in the league. The Texans placed their complete trust in the up-and-coming signal-caller. But after a disastrous start to the season, former HC Bill O’Brien caused all sorts of problems for the Texans.

“If I was Deshaun, I’d get out of [Houston] as soon as possible and I’d head to New York. The Jets. [The Jets have] a decent offensive line, they’d have to find threats, find some offensive weapons, but I think there would be a lot more people excited to be there. The free-agency market this year is going to be oversaturated because of the salary cap.”
“They’re saying he isn’t answering any texts or calls. I wouldn’t either. He’s done everything. He has taken a beating for [the Texans] and played efficiently…His level of play didn’t drop with the team,” Sherman said on the show.

Apart from the Jets, there are rumors that Washington Football Team, Carolina Panthers, and even Chicago Bears are interested in Watson’s signature. But Texans and Miami Dolphins are at the front of the line as for now. Rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa could serve as a mouth-watering counterweight for Houston who are looking to begin a new managerial era.
