The former Utah State quarterback Jordan Love made his way into the big leagues just last year. The Matt LaFleur-coached Green Bay Packers traded up with the Miami Dolphins to bring in Jordan Love in the 1st round (26th overall) of the 2020 NFL Virtual Draft.
He was regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in last year’s rookie class behind the likes of Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, and Justin Herbert.
Love signed a 4-year rookie deal with the Packers amounting to $12.38m with a signing bonus of $6,566,160. There was a lot of chaos surrounding Love’s arrival in Wisconsin.

A lot of it had to do with the short-term future of veteran NFL shot-caller Aaron Rodgers. Critics claimed that Jordan’s acquisition was carried out in order to prepare for life after A-Rod.
However, with 4,500+ passing yards and 50+ passing TDs this season, Mr. Rodgers is far from done. Regardless, Jordan Love has no qualms about waiting for his opportunity.

Jordan Love featured on a recent CBS Sports segment hosted by Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney. The promising 22-year-old was asked to offer his take on what has been a rather eventful first year in the NFL with the Packers.
He said, “The situation I’m in, they brought me in to learn as much as I can, and that’s really all I can do. I don’t make those calls; they do. Obviously, (like) anybody, you wanna be out there competing.”
“The way I look at it, if I’m not ready to be out there, then I have to keep working. I mean, I definitely grew a lot during the season.

“It’s a lot when you first get there, your head’s kinda spinning, but once you get your feet into it and get through the season, your confidence gains,” Love said on CBS Network.
As things stand, Love will have to wait for a bit longer to make his regular-season debut for the Packers. Considering Rodgers’ epic display over the course of the 2020-21 NFL season, we don’t see him being benched by coach LaFleur anytime soon.
The 2-time NFL MVP has hinted that he intends to play well into his 40s. But Love has no other option than to sit back and learn from arguably one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever grace the field.
