Cardinals quarterback David Blough showed good signs for the Arizona team while playing the last two games of the season. Before playing for the Cardinals, Blough was playing for the Lions for over 2 years. Recently, a video has gone viral when the QB was watching his wife and Olympian, Melissa Gonzalez, qualify for the 400-meter hurdles at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Blough was watching the race while he was with the Lions squad along with other staff members.

Notably, Gonzalez was representing her country, Colombia, in the Tokyo Olympics. Although she failed to qualify for the finals of the 400-meter hurdles, her husband’s reaction to her reaching the semis certainly won the internet.

Fans became emotional seeing David Blough reacting to his wife Melissa Gonzalez’s race

Blough sat at the Lions facility when Gonzalez participated in the race. While his wife neared the finish line, he cheered her on profoundly. As she qualified for the semis, he jumped joyously and almost twisted his ankle in the process. Then he became emotional after seeing the whole room clap and cheer for his wife.

Recently, the official Instagram handle of SportsCenter posted the video, and many fans showed love for Blough. One fan wrote, “Top tier support from your man!”

Another fan called it real love and said, “He risked his ACL, MCL and almost took a L cheering for his lady… Now that?s real love.”

A few fans wanted to see her race as well. “This is dope but y?all really couldn?t give us a third slide with the footage of her race?!” another fan wrote. Meanwhile, some people made fun of Blough, as one of his shoes came off. One fan wrote, “Got so happy his shoe came off.”

On the other hand, some people joked about their future kids as well. “That?s going to be an athletic kid they have,” one user wrote. Surprisingly, Blough had no idea that many people joined him to watch the race, as he sat in the front row.

As everyone started clapping, he looked genuinely surprised. Later on, he said, “Had no idea the whole staff was down there. Dan, Coach Campbell, made it important to us and the staff to come down and watch with us.”

Notably, Gonzalez lost in the semi-final after finishing sixth in the race; however, she talked about not giving up. As for Blough, since leaving the Lions in 2022, he signed with the Vikings in their practice squad. In December last year, he joined the Cardinals and played the last two games of the season.
