Updates just don’t start coming in for the New York Giants. This one, though, might just make all the difference for them. After being dubbed as one of the worst teams in the NFL, they finally started doing something about how things are going. The team is currently standing in the 4 position in the NFC East standings. At this point, everyone and their moms have talked about the Giants. From Manning Brothers to Rich Eisen and many others, the Giants are getting bullied.
It’s about time that they finally woke up and started making changes to their O-line. They must resort to desperate measures at this point as Andrew Thomas, their Left Tackle has missed the past 3 games due to a hamstring injury. However, there IS a light at the end of the tunnel after a recent tweet from Mike Garafolo.

Welcome back, Justin Pugh
A recent post from Mike Garafolo points to a new addition to the Giants’ arsenal. They are reuniting with one of their ex-players, Justin Pugh. However, he is only a part of the practice squad and his status on the field is not confirmed yet. Pugh, who was picked by the Giants back in 2013, will join the team once again. Maybe this is the ‘cure-all’ that the Giants so desperately after being taking 11 sacks in a single game against the Seahawks. Zach Wilson might finally be taking a sigh of relief as the spotlight is not on him anymore.
The #Giants are signing OL Justin Pugh to their practice squad, sources say. The team’s 2013 first-round pick returns to East Rutherford to join an offensive line in need of help and depth.

Justin Pugh has had a run of his own, as a lot of unfortunate things have happened to him ever since 2017. The interesting thing here is that Pugh was there with the Giants but was soon taken off due to a back injury. Things didn’t stop there because he joined the Arizona Cardinals in 2018, but that too was cut short after a knee injury. He got injured again in the 2022 season and suffered a torn ACL.
Speaking of injuries, the Giants have an extensive injury list of their own.
The battered Giants
The whole team is in shambles right now. People are not even shying away from slandering Brian Daboll, the HC, at this point. At this point, Andrew Thomas has been out for a while, which is old news. In the last game against the Seahawks, two more Giants took a blow. The rookie John Michael Schmitz suffered a shoulder injury and later, Shane Lemieux was out of the game due to a groin issue. Josh Ezeudu has been assigned to fill the seat of Andrew Thomas.

Leaving aside the depressing injury list, Justin Pugh feels confident about himself and believes that he is an asset to the team. The thing is that the NFL has changed a lot and given the Giants’ state Pugh might have to adapt very quickly as the battle ahead is only going to get more jarring. “I still got some good snaps in me,’’ mentioned Pugh sometime last month to the New York Post.
