It didn’t take long for the NFL community to take shots at the Dallas Cowboys after they lost to the 49ers in what was the worst defeat of their nefarious rivalry. People are throwing shades on Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, and even Jerry Jones. Recently, the internet has been spamming free advice to Jerry Jones on what he should do with their QB1 and the team. The man, Jerry Jones, just shrugged the netizen off his shoulder like it was no big deal.
Amid this, Shannon Sharpe, Stephen A. Smith, and P Mac discussed their own opinions and shed some light on Dak Prescott’s interesting contract. The contract might divide people into thinking about the rights and wrongs of the deal. But are we to judge how the America’s team does their business?
So, what’s the big deal behind the Dak Prescott contract?

Shannon Sharpe and Co. got into the nitty-gritty of the contract. Although what’s revealed isn’t something out of the ordinary, however, it still doesn’t sit well with the hosts. In the recent episode with P Mac, Sharpe asked a simple question, ‘You think they put go to Super Bowl in Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes’ contract?’. This is in response to Dak Prescott’s contract, which gives him an incentive of $1 million if the Cowboys were to make it to the Super Bowl.

Shannon Sharpe’s stance was valid, too. The star QBs have the obligation to give their 100% to the teams, regardless of the incentive. According to the host, no such conditions existed in Pat Mahomes and TB12’s contract. His point is, why are they incentivizing something that is already expected from great players? “You put the incentives when you don’t have the expectation.” Asserted Sharpe.
Dak Prescott’s contract is valid
Leading the team with touchdowns, being a Pro-Bowler, and leading the team receiving is what Sharpe did in his career once he got to the 4 year. He didn’t take incentives when he got to that point, and Sharpe thinks that the same should be the case with Prescott. Incentives or not, he is supposed to take the richest team in the franchise to a Super Bowl.

The Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl since 1996 despite the team having all the funds and resources that they can have. But is it right to criticize a franchise’s policies and how they cater to their players? The good thing is, that Jerry Jones hasn’t lost an iota of trust in Prescott and wants to take it further and give him more chances. Perhaps Prescott will take into account this kindness, especially when it comes to him at a point where the whole NFL community is looking at him the wrong way.

Anyway, Shannon Sharpe’s stance seems valid as well, because being a star comes with a responsibility, it also comes with an obligation to keep up with people’s and stakeholders’ expectations. Is Dak Prescott keeping up with both? You let us know.
