The Eagles are coming off an invincible 5-0 streak and Jalen Hurts is at the forefront of it. Well, it’s more than one way that Hurts contributes to the team and his job doesn’t limit him to just being a quarterback. The Eagles are going against the Jets soon and there are some changes that they have made to the team, thanks to Coach Lurie and Jalen Hurts. Though the team is stupendous, Jalen Hurts felt something needed to change.

Lo and behold, the Eagles’ new weapon to take the game against the New York Jets. But what is this new weapon in their arsenal? Well, it’s not really a weapon, but something new that the Eagles fans can look forward to in the MetLife Stadium.

In the past, Jalen Hurts and Co. played with the Denver Broncos in week 10 of the 2021 season. Fans witnessed something that day that they’d never seen before. Hurts and the whole team were wearing a white top with black pants. The Eagles never wore this combo ever except for that one time in 2017, when they played against the Broncos, again, and they donned an all-black uniform. The 2021 game against the Broncos turned out well for the Eagles as they won 30-13 with Hurts making 16 out of his 23 passes for 178 yards and scoring two touchdowns.

The thanks for this new aesthetic goes to Jalen Hurts himself after he requested a new uniform from Coach Jeffrey Lurie. This new uniform had a deeper meaning where comradery was the priority. It Hurts’ love for his teammates and a ‘greatness’ mentality were the reasons behind his brainchild. “I take full credit for it. I worked really hard to get Mr. [Jeffrey] Lurie to try and switch it up a little bit. I appreciate them letting us wear the black pants.” Mentioned Hurts in a past interview.

As it happens, the Eagles are at it again and will bring out the uniform in the Jets game. Maybe Hurts can repeat history again.

The Eagles at MetLife Stadium

It’s no news by now that the New York Jets are suffering big time from the losses that keep on piling up. Apart from Aaron Rodgers’ departure from the season, the Jets are in possession of a pretty extensive injury list. The good news is that Zach Wilson’s performance has shown some improvement. The thing is, Wilson is vulnerable to pressure and sacks, and till the Jets fix this problem, they will just maintain stagnating losses.

On the other hand, the grass is exactly not all green on the Eagles’ side either. Recently, Jason Kelce had an outburst that had to do with the team’s ability to infiltrate the red zone. The Eagles won all their games, but Jake Elliot was the Eagles’ kingmaker for all these games. While there is nothing wrong with relying on Elliot, Kelce thinks that the team must do better and that he was ‘frustrated’ as he mentioned on his podcast, New Heights.
