Home/NFL

Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles squad have adopted a move that is making them unstoppable. In fact, it’s gotten to a point that even the NFL even considered banning the move, but to everyone’s surprise, the tactic is still pretty much a part of the game, and the Eagles don’t even give a second thought about using it, instead, they keep pushing harder.

Apparently, the team has gained some notoriety for their ‘Tush Push’ move and has been getting some backlash over it for quite some time. So much so that even Chris Simms made some controversial remarks that got the whole internet fired up and they started bashing him…for good reason?

A video recently surfaced on Eagles Nation’s Twitter account where the commentator Chris Simms is seen having a deep conversation with the co-host. He had extreme solutions to stop Jalen Hurts from achieving what the Eagles needed the most, a touchdown. He went as far as to say that the opposition’s HC should be giving orders to ‘kill’ Jalen Hurts at any opportunity they get. Of course, there was no violent connotation attached to the statement, but it still sounded extreme to a normal individual.

The internet didn’t take kindly to this kind of behavior and they did not take long to put Simms down. The comment section is full of comments like, ‘ This guy is a loser’. Another person comments, ‘Sad people are saying this, especially on television.’ Another fan mentions, ‘@CSimmsQBis a big baby’, while one says, ‘@NBCSportsCome get your clown.’ And another fan writes, ‘He’s a loser and irrelevant. Why does this man have a platform?’.

There is a serious question that follows as to why such a piece of commentary is necessary for national TV. Maybe fans’ anger is not misplaced. So, what is ‘Tush Push’, and why is it raising so many eyebrows?

The ‘Tush Push’

Apparently, this is the technique that the Eagles often resort to whenever they need a push forward. And if they fall short of achieving what they want, they do it yet again. Basically, it requires the QB to line up under center with two or three players behind it. As the snap happens, the QB receives a big push from behind, propelling him forward. They tried the same thing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jalen Hurts converted the opportunity into a touchdown.
