The Cowboys faced what can only be described as an embarrassing defeat against the San Francisco 49ers. Finally, the nefarious Cowboys defense fell at the hands of Brock Purdy and the company. Purdy and the CMC train did numbers on the field, leaving Jerry Jones’ behemoth high and dry. The Dallas Cowboys lost the shootout with 42-10 in the 49ers’ favor. At this point, we all know how significant this game was through the lens of history.
Although the loss was devastating, it comes as a lesson for the Cowboys for a lot of reasons. A recent Instagram post by ESPN NFL explains the gravitas of the loss in a crisp manner, but the meaning of this post is very clear to the fans, and especially to the Cowboys.

ESPN’s post shows the stark difference in the Cowboys’ performance from where they started and how the walls came down on them as soon as they entered week 5 of the regular season. The Dallas Cowboys were dominant throughout the weeks 1-4, mainly because they allowed just 41 points combined, that too in the first 4 games that they played. However, week 5 came and ruined it for them, as the 49ers managed to score 42 points in a single game.

The San Fran team ruined the all-coveted Cowboys’ defense and Brock Purdy is the key reason behind this. Why? Because Brock Purdy alone had 4 touchdowns in the game and not only that, Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle stole the show with their own touchdowns. What about 49ers defense? Well, clearly, they did a great job as they sacked the Cowboys 4 times.
49ers gunning toward greatness
This game has put the 49ers on an even bigger pedestal, as now they have won all 5 games that they have played. They now stand 1 in the NFC West standings. Also, Brock Purdy, after winning this game, has set a record of not losing a single game this year. He is the no.1 QB in the league only for this reason, because in the end winning is all that matters. Speaking of winning, we have to talk about George Kittle, the man who scored 3 receiving touchdowns. What a start to his season.

Can’t forget about the CMC train. McCaffrey did an exceptional job and had 19 rush attempts over 51 yards. Also, he had 1 rushing touchdown to his name. The man’s doing what he does best, run like a train to the end zone, almost unstoppable, just like his idol Frank Gore.
