The Dallas Cowboys have stuck through thick and thin by now. A couple of days ago, Dak Prescott was the target of media and fans alike, following the horrendous loss in the 49ers bout. But, things have changed for Prescott since then and people are taking it easy on him right now. Safe to say that this win was paramount for the Cowboys. Especially after they hosted the Red Kettle Kickoff against the Chargers.

Well, Dak Prescott can take a sigh of relief after the 20-17 win which has put the Dallas team on the map again, while trashing the Chargers’ win-loss ratio. It’s about time that Dak Prescott came out to talk about the game. The message is simple, and so are the numbers. However, they make a huge difference.

John Machota recently posted on Twitter, and the caption has a painfully obvious but simple question: “Was tonight a must-win game for the Dallas Cowboys?”. The answer to the question is quite apparent. Prescott’s answer is quite simple as well, “S*** yeah, 4-2 or 3-3, it’s a huge difference.” The Cowboys were left with a bitter taste in their mouth as Brock Purdy and Co. berated the team on and off the field. Prescott mentioned that the team has learned a lot and wanted to get the ‘bitter taste’ out of their mouth.

The good thing about all this is, after getting the win against the Chargers, the Cowboys as headed for a bye week. This means that they can come out stronger against the LA Rams in their next game. Also, the team did a phenomenal job in the match with the Chargers, although the scoreboard wasn’t that high.

Prescott came out of this game with a touchdown and 21 completed passes over 272 yards with a 70% pass completion rate. Not only Prescott, but the team as a whole did numbers. The only other touchdown came from Brandin Cooks, the Archer with a lore of his own.

Brandin Cooks did the impossible in the last leg of the game with 11 minutes and 28 seconds left in the quarter. Dak Prescott lobbed the ball to Cooks, and he caught it! Heroically, to say the least. This marked his first touchdown of the regular season after struggling to get a touchdown in the past 4 games. Also, the Cowboys only managed to squeeze 2 touchdowns, one of which belonged to Cooks.

Although people might not think that these are impressive numbers considering the fact that he was benched most of the time, he did fairly well for himself. It also boils down to Cooks’ work ethic and his relationship with Dak Prescott. He praised Prescott in an interview after the game.
