The San Francisco 49ers are at their best performance in the season. The team currently stands as one of the only two undefeated teams in the league at 5-0. All the credit for this goes to head coach Shanahan and the players. Along with constantly bettering their flaws over the years, the 49ers have made the best out of their players. So much so that players like Christian McCaffrey are now doing more damage to their opponents than just making them lose.

Christian McCaffrey, the star player of the 49ers and also NBA legend LeBron James’s favorite player, has a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders. The QB is the most lethal offensive weapon of the Niners. McCaffrey is the team’s savior when they have no moves left, making him a hot target. He is also a player tough to tackle for the opponent teams during their clashes. Given the agility and speed he possesses, it becomes a nightmare to control McCaffrey. So, many players end up making poor decisions in haste, earning them penalties or fines, especially against McCaffrey.

Having a player like Christian McCaffrey on their side becomes a tremendous advantage for the Niners. Because of the QB’s slipperiness on the ground, many players end up being too rough while tackling him. The consequences of it are bad. In the 5 weeks of the regular season, fines worth $75,547 have been imposed against the star QB’s opponents. In week 3 clash, the Giants‘ LB Jihad Ward was fined $8,153 for grappling McCaffrey’s face mask. Whereas in week 4, Cardinals‘ LB Ezekiel Turner got a penalty of $10,927 for another facemask move. Meanwhile, his teammate Jalen Thompson received an $18,222 fine for illegally hitting CMC.

Following this, the Cowboys’ clash against the 49ers didn’t quite turn out to be like they expected. Along with a humiliating loss, the Cowboys also received a fine amount, a huge one. Cowboys safety Donovan Wilson apparently was fined twice, for $10,927 and $16,391. Wilson broke the facemask rule and was unnecessarily rough during McCaffrey’s tackle, hence the fine. Moreover, Jayron Kearse, who is known for unnecessarily taunting players during games, was once again flagged for doing it against McCaffrey, which cost him $10,927.

Last, Cowboys’ LB Vander Esch delivered a helmet-to-helmet hit to Deboo Samuel, a fine for which was $18,219. It is safe to say the Cowboys owners were just as much upset about the fines as they were about the loss.
