The past performances of the Philadelphia Eagles showcase that they’re not ready to be put down this season, even for once. They’re looking to maintain that momentum in their upcoming game against the New York Jets in New Jersey. The Eagles are currently leading the league with a 5-0 record, and interestingly, for the past 12 matches since 1973 against the Jets, the Eagles have never lost a game. So, maybe the Jets could overturn the trend this time.
Not only the team but even the star quarterback Jalen Hurts is riding on an 11-straight regular-season victories streak. This is the longest winning streak in the Eagles’ history and the third-longest in the NFL after Tom Brady (13) and Joe Montana (18). However, the Eagles’ presence would be slightly different on Sunday’s game, as they’ll enter the field under the colors inspired by their shot caller.

At the request of Jalen Hurts back in 2021, the team has finally brought back the black-and-white combination in their jersey. They’ll try out the new idea in their Week 6 game against the New York Jets. The new Eagles uniform will have the top-wear as classic white, and their pants will be black. Amid this announcement, Hurts believes all the credit goes to him for this new development.
He said in an interview, “I take full credit for it. I worked really hard to get Mr. Lurie to try and switch it up a little bit. I appreciate them letting us wear the black pants.” This would be eye candy for all the Eagles fans, as this is an addition to the players’ looks after the Kelly Green uniform of the Eagles.

This year has been a rollercoaster ride for the Eagles as they also brought back the team’s original colors in July. This opened the gates of nostalgia for all the 1990s NFL fans from the Randall Cunningham and Reggie White era.

The new-old Kelly Green jersey of the Eagles
The Kelly Green jersey is what today’s adults have grown up watching on the TV in the Eagles games. However, they changed it in 1996 to midnight green, but after the 2021 rules change, the management was hellbent on bringing back the nostalgia. And that’s what they did in July 2023, announcing their players’ new Kelly Green outfits.
The Eagles president, Don Smolenski, gave his opinion on the color change. He said, “We recognize and appreciate the connection Eagles fans have to the Kelly Green uniform. These uniforms not only honor our past and the many legends who have helped shape our franchise along the way, but they also represent the passion of our incredible fans and the generations that have been authentically linked by them.”
