One week is more than enough to change someone’s fortune. Just a week ago, some sports analysts and fans were ready to throw Dak out of Dallas. Some even wanted to see Trey Lance take the field as QB1 for the Cowboys. But after a decisive victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, everything is looking back to normal for No.4. This is what happens when you are the QB of America’s Team. With a star on the helmet comes more spotlight, but with that comes a chance of more scrutiny.
This sentence can’t be more applicable to anyone other than Mr Prescott himself.

Dak has always been one of the most scrutinized QBs in the league. Even when he plays solid, it isn’t good for many. After last week’s humbling loss to the Niners, it seemed like nothing could take those stormy clouds away from him. However, it is a week-to-week league, and this week he has become a knight in shining armor for the Cowboys Nation and media pundits alike. And it seems like there is no bigger cheerleader of Prescott than his own head coach. Mike McCarthy had some glowing words to share about his beloved QB on Mad Dog Radio.
Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy on @MadDogRadio: “I love Dak Prescott as our quarterback. I think the way he’s built all the way through, obviously his physical skill set is excellent. But what he endures mentally and emotionally compared to the other 31 (NFL starting QBs) is unique.…

“I love Dak Prescott as our quarterback,” McCarthy said on Mad Dog Radio, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic.com. He went on to rave about Dak’s mental aspect of the game. He believes the way Dak has to endure all the mental and emotional stuff compared to other QBs is unique. A coach who has worked alongside greats like Montana, Favre, and Rodgers believes none of them used to be under a microscope like the Mississippi State product. McCarthy couldn’t stop raving about his QB’s work ethic, preparation, and attitude, among other things. He also thinks how taking a snap under the center wearing a star on a helmet has its own set of challenges.
Cowboys’ offense needs to evolve

As of now, the Cowboys are sitting just a game behind NFC co-leaders. Also, what a great time to go into a bye week with a win. This is the perfect time for them to heal and look at their shortcomings. Their defense has played like an elite unit for an entire season, except at Santa Clara. But that has not been the case for their offense. The Cowboys are lucky that they are 4-2 and not 3-3 going into the bye week.
There are still some issues on the offensive side of the ball for Dem Boyz, which they need to clean up. Dak and Co. can’t seem to work efficiently when they are trailing. America’s Team also needs their defense to get turnovers to help the offense. The Cowboys are 0-2 when their defense doesn’t get a turnover. This won’t work when facing a divisional rival like the Eagles. Brian Shottenheimer and McCarthy need to come up with something for this offense to work like well-oiled machinery.
