It is that time of the year when we talk about NFL trades. Recently, there has been a lot of commotion about Washington Commanders DEs, Chase Young and Montez Sweat. They might not be with the Commanders after the 2023 season concludes. In the same spirit, the Philadelphia Eagles are considering new prospects because a position for a safety opened up. The Tennessee Titans are also doing a lot of running around as it stands, and they have their eye on Kevin Byard for reasons you would not think of.

A post just surfaced on X that sheds more light on the Eagles’ situation and the fans are in a flurry right now. After they faced their first defeat and got their safety Reed Blankenship injured, they are looking for alternatives to fill in for him. The trade block is not short of rumors as Dianna Russini spilled all the tea in her new article. However, the Titans trying to make changes to their roster caught everyone’s attention and left the GMs and Owners working the phones to capitalize on the opportunity. Dianna Russini’s report on trade rumors has shed some light on what is happening in the NFL behind closed doors. Recently, she reported that the Tennessee Titans are looking to trade Kevin Byard, and coincidentally; the Eagles are in the market for a new Safety. This came after Blankenship suffered a rib injury and stopped participating in the practice camp. They need a lot of help in the defensive department as the Eagles’ injured players keep piling up. Byard seems like a strong candidate for addition to the Eagles’ defense.

The safety has a total of 47 tackles in the 2023 season. Although the Titans have lost 3 of the 5 games they played, Byard left no stone unturned when it came to running the opposition’s players down the ground. Out of those 47 tackles, he made 30 solo tackles and assisted 17 of them. Comparing Byard with Blankenship, the current Eagles’ safety has a total of 39 tackles to his name, out of which he made 27 solo tackles. The metrics are nearly the same at this point, but; it seems like Byard can fit in the Eagles’ scheme of things.

The rumor has got fans going into a frenzy, and the internet being opinionated gave their two cents and has the attention of the whole NFL community at this point. Interestingly, a lot of people back Kevin Byard.

Word on the street: What are the fans saying?

Mike Herndon, Co-Host of FWordsPod also caught the attention of the rumors and shared the tweet on X. One fan mentions, ‘Kevin Byard & Treylon Burks for AJ Brown & a 3rd imo’, while another one writes, ‘we gonna need a 3rd and a 4th to make up for aj trade’, while another one writes, ‘I think byard is gonna get traded I hate to say that but with the way titans season has gone they have to do it’

Thomas R. Peterson also shed light on the situation and posted about the trade. His post highlights the trade rumors around Kevin Byard, Justin Simmons, and Budda Baker. One fan mentioned, ‘Rare error from Howie. Every 🦅 fan knew they needed a S even before the injuries. Now every team smells blood and will want an overpay. Should have done something more off season.’ And another one wrote, ‘Byard was rumored before the szn, i’ll take either of the 3’.

JPA Football added one more name to the Trade Block, Jeremy Chinn, along with Kevin Byard. It mentions how Howie Roseman is ‘working the phones’. One fan writes, ‘They would have to give up a lot for Byard and Chinn is really hurt soooo’, while another added, ‘Kevin Byard would be an interesting pickup.

All these overwhelming rumors require the Eagles to quickly figure out their next move as the deadline approaches. We might see Byard playing with the Eagles after October 31, but that’s just speculation. One thing is for sure, this hyperbole of a trade will not happen overnight before the Eagles play the Dolphins.

Nonetheless, Howie Roseman is looking to make some changes to the Eagles’ offense and defense ahead of the championship games as the team lacks the ability to drive their offense. With the defense weakened right now, one would say they need to find a solution and not a quick fix.
