AJ Brown is not short of praise after the Philadelphia Eagles won the game against the Miami Dolphins. This newfound attitude with an improved offense and defense shows how far the Eagles have come after losing to the Jets. The bounce back is undeniable, and AJ Brown is at the forefront of it after breaking Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson’s record that has been untouched since 2012.
Brown has outgunned all the wide receivers from his former team, the Tennessee Titans who traded the Pro Bowler to the Eagles back in 2022. Since then, Brown has made quite a case for himself. The NFL is on a spur and shared their hearty congratulations to the WR1 for his exceptional performance. And why not? He broke a 53-year-old record after all.

NFL researcher Tony Holzman-Escareno recently came out with some mind-bending stats about AJ Brown. AJ Brown had above 125 receiving yards in the last 4 games that he played. Calvin Johnson broke this record in 2012 after he scored a season-high 1,964 receiving yards. It took Johnson over 40 years to break the record since it recorded the last time back in 1970. As it stands, AJ Brown has a total of 809 receiving yards, which is more than all the Titans’ WR yardage combined.

This last game against the Dolphins marked his 32 career rushing TD after catching the lob from Jalen Hurts. Nick Sirianni mentioned how grateful he was when he asked Jeffrey Lurie to spend $100 million on AJ Brown. The Dolphins game helped Brown achieve 10 receptions over 137 yards. He maintains an average of 15.7 yards per reception for the 2023 season. He also had 4 first down receptions in the Dolphins game.

From the looks of it, the 2-time Pro Bowler might just be able to take the Eagles to one more Super Bowl championship. The Eagles would not prefer to taint their record, but they have some leeway now in case they lose again. But for now, they are chilling and experimenting with their outfit.
The many colors of the Eagles
The Philly team came out with a new Kelly-Green outfit, which was a throwback to old times. They did this because they wanted to commemorate old memories and also because this was Lurie’s plan in the pipeline for a while. It took Nike quite some time to re-stock the color palette, but here we are. The fans started flocking around the Eagles’ merch store to get their hands on the jersey.

Even some celebs like Rob McElhenney came out with a petition to change the Eagles’ jersey permanently. The netizens seconded this all over the world as they wanted to see some changes in the Eagles’ outfit. Ironically, the reason for going midnight green was because the fans found Kelly Green to be shopworn after the team donned it for a couple of years. Even the helmet was KG this time.

Interestingly, Jalen Hurts spoke to Lurie before the Jets game and planned out the white jersey with black pants. The Eagles sure like to switch it up now and then. We will see the Eagles again in the same outfit in November against the Buffalo Bills. Looks like AJ Brown took ‘new outfit, fresh energy’ too seriously.
