The journey of the Dallas Cowboys this season can simply be called a roller coaster. Not only the fans but also the head coach, Mike McCarthy, agree with the fact, after looking at the 6-game performance of the 4-2 Cowboys. Although he believes that it would be an even better spectacle as the team gears up for the bye-week. McCarthy has seen it all, from a full-blown 40-0 blowout to an ugly 42-10 loss.
However, focusing more on future games, the coach opened up about his strategies after the teams made it through the cutting-edge battle against the Rams. McCarthy emphasized learning from these ‘highs’ through the series of strategies he has planned.

As the Cowboys charge up against the 3-3 Rams, McCarthy has some homework to do with the players. The Cowboys are clearly aiming for the playoffs this season, as they are hot on the trail after the NFC-leading 5-1 Niners, Eagles, and Lions. Yet the coach wants to address the glaring issue of penalties. So far, the Cowboys had 11 penalties for 85 yards against the Chargers. Among these, the pre-snap penalties hurt the Cowboys the most. “We do need to clean some things up. The pre-snap penalties … I think [correcting those] is part of being a team and going through the ebb and flow,” said McCarthy.
Additionally, the Cowboys were flagged for having 12 men on the field in defense. Even though the Cowboys won, the pile of penalties was quite high for the day. As a solution to this, McCarthy asserted in finding ‘ways to be creative, demanding but making sure we’re stressing the correct things.’ However, a rather shameful account of penalties isn’t the only thing that the Cowboys head coach has planned out for the players.

Furthermore, the coach shared his opinions on how he plans for the remaining 13 games in the regular season. As per him, as the first segment is successfully over, the team now focuses on the second segment, which will last up to the end of November. This will be followed by the most important one, the December segment.

Speaking about the upcoming game against the Los Angeles Rams, the coach says he is pretty thrilled to be home. Although the Cowboys have been on the road for four out of six games, the team didn’t get much chance to perform for their home audience. “We’ve been on the road four out of six games. It’ll be fun to be home and play in front of our crowd.” It will surely be a roller coaster to witness the Cowboys clash against the Rams, especially with the Texas people hearing up for their team.
