The San Francisco 49ers have laid out a plan to keep their head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch for a longer time. After the duo’s arrival in 2017, the team turned its course, and in the third season they formed a team that had won two games prior to the year they became the consistent contender. Moreover, in 2019, the 49ers made it to the Super Bowl, however, they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. They also won the NFC West division title in the 2019 and 2021 seasons.
Currently, San Francisco is experiencing a great run just at the beginning of the season. The team is holding a 3-0 record after they secured the 30-12 win against New York Jets in the Thursday game. So, after such incredible results, the team has decided to extend the contract of its management, especially the HC and the GM.

The 49ers are avoiding the mistakes that they committed back in the seasons from 2014-2016. At that time, the team had already changed three head coaches, when they finally stumbled upon Kyle Shanahan the next year. Now, they’re seeking stability, as they wouldn’t want to have the 2-14 record of 2016, back again.
So, the top of the organization seems to be working just fine for the Niners, and to that end, they’ve announced multi-year contract extensions for their current head coach, Kyle Shanahan, and general manager, John Lynch. Lynch is vigilantly contributing to collecting the best players in the league for the team and making the apt trades for a better future. His dedication to the team knows no bounds, as the ex-TV analyst refuted the $15 million deal from Amazon, just so he could join the 49ers as their GM.

Shanahan, on the other hand, is honing the skills of the players for the better and showcased one of the largest win improvements in the league in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. However, for a lot of NFL pundits, the news came as a surprise, because many believed Lynch would be fired after the whole Trey Lance debacle.

The Niners sustain their management despite Trey Lance’s trade
Almost a week ago, the Dallas Cowboys took in another QB under their hood from the Sam Francisco 49ers. Despite having a lot of confidence in their star quarterback, Dak Prescott, they wanted Lance to be the second option for the team. Surprisingly, Prescott didn’t have any idea about this trade. This notably makes Cooper Rush the third option for the Cowboys. Still, from San Francisco’s perspective, this wasn’t deemed to be a wise decision.
The former NFL quarterback and the ESPN analyst, Robert Griffin III, voted for the expulsion of John Lynch after their decision to trade Lance for a 2024 fourth-round draft pick. This decision did not make sense to a lot of fans, since back in 2021, the team gave up the three first-round picks and third-round selection to the Miami Dolphins, just so, they could book Trey Lance for themselves.

Now, they’ve traded him off to push their 2022 NFL draft QB, Brock Purdy, as their first option. Now it’s to be seen whether this extension will turn out to be fruitful for the team or not. What are your thoughts about this? Tell us in the comments section.
