The Philadelphia Eagles just edged past the Washington Commanders in a nerve-racking fight. Jake Elliott’s 54-yard field goal snitched the late victory for the Eagles, handing the Commanders their second defeat in a row. Despite coming very close oftentimes, they missed the taste of victory by a whisker.
But what did the fans miss? Social media activity from NBA legend Magic Johnson, who is a part owner of the Washington-based Franchise.

The Commanders built up confidence high as they forced the match to overtime, following an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills. But it all ended up in disappointment all over again, as they failed to improve their ranking from third in the NFC East. But other than the game, Magic Johnson’s activity, or lack of one on Instagram has caught the attention of many. Especially after the Hall of Famer’s visit to the team ground a few weeks back.
Johnson visited the team on September 6 and talked with the players for nearly an hour. Even head coach Ron Rivera spoke about his motivating words and their effects on the players. Following the visit, the Commanders made easy work of the Cardinals but have lost the rhythm since. Now after the loss against the Eagles, they are 2-2 in the season. Interestingly enough, Johnson hasn’t posted a single reaction anywhere during or after the game, even as half an hour has passed.

Johnson is probably taking his notes, and his next task will likely be going back to the training camp to shoot the team spirit high again. It looks like only Johnson’s preaching and motivation can help save the season for the Commanders and it seems like they need it soon.
