Falcons‘ QB Desmond Ridder has recently come out and blamed his team’s loss to the Lions on low energy. According to him, the offense couldn’t find rhythm in the passing game and didn’t have a run game to fall back on, creating a stagnant attack that struggled despite the score remaining close until the end.

The rookie QB1 has identified what went wrong in the Falcons’ 20-6 loss to Detroit in Week 3 and why they weren’t able to play the complementary football required to beat a team like the Lions. Is it a case of a lack of team synergy?

Recently, Ridder commented on the team’s performance after their game against the Detroit Lions. He mentioned that the Lions “came out with more juice, more energy,” while the Falcons seemed flat, as reported by Tori McElhaney.

Ridder threw the ball 38 times during the game, successfully completing 21 of those throws, gaining a total of 201 yards in the process. However, Ridder also acknowledged making mistakes that didn’t help the team.

Despite being sacked seven times by the Lions, which is a single-game career high for him, the rookie QB of the Atlanta Falcons did not blame the offensive line. He said, “Things have to move and happen fast better out there. … So, I wouldn’t put it on them, more so myself,” emphasizing the need to make better reads and release the ball more quickly.

Desmond Ridder, the Falcons’ QB, also expressed his frustration about the bad penalties in their Week 3 loss to the Lions. The Falcons had fewer penalties than the Lions (10 for 119 yards). Ridder pointed out that the timing of the Lions’ penalties hurt his team, referring to them as a “bag of crap.”

He emphasized that it was the penalties and not the Lions’ skill that caused their loss, stating that the Lions were not better; mistakes hurt. “There’s a lot of times in our situations where we go out there and we beat ourselves and not play to our full potential,” he claimed.
