The Dallas Cowboys are currently going on a sweep streak, starting the season with a great record of 0-2. Not only they’ve won the games, it’s safe to say that the team turned their matches into one-sided domination, by snatching the 40-0 victory from the New York Giants, and a 30-10 win against the New York Jets. However, the QB drama is at an all-time high among the Cowboys, especially after they took in Trey Lance from the San Francisco 49ers.

To that end, the Dallas head coach, Mike McCarthy has given his two cents about the environment of the Quarterback room right now. Since they already have a star QB the recruitment of Lance raised a lot of questions about Prescott’s stability in the team. However, McCarthy has toned down all the tumultuous suspicions going on around his team’s quarterback situation.

The Cowboys HC appeared on The Rich Eisen Show, where he talked about his “connectivity” with Dak Prescott. In their previous game, Prescott performed phenomenally on the offense, as he completed two scores and also made 31 out of 38 passes for 255 yards. Prescott turned out to be a great weapon for the Cowboys against the incredible New York Jets defense. Undoubtedly, he’s a valuable asset to the team.

McCarthy does agree with that statement. So much so that he even placed Dak Prescott above Aaron Rodgers on the list. The reporter raised the question about how Prescott is feeling after the entrance of Trey Lance. Before the Cowboys, he was the Quarterbacks coach of the Green Bay Packers, when he saw Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers in the team side-by-side. Even Rodgers praised McCarthy for his extraordinary coaching during his time at the Packers.

Still, McCarthy said, “Dak is the lead dog in our room, there’s no question in that.” So, as per the HC, Prescott will still remain the first preference of the team. Well, there’s no doubt that their relationship has improved over the years, as the performance of the shot caller has improved significantly since McCarthy’s presence in 2020. Now, the next challenge for the team is brewing up, but as it turns out the Arizona Cardinals defense will be on the lookout for Prescott.

The Cowboys QB may prove to be a threat to the Arizona Cardinals

According to Arizona Sports, the defensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals, Nick Rallis, has been cautious about the “explosive” power of Dak Prescott. Rallis understands that the quarterback position from the Cowboys will be a bit annoying for their team. For that reason, the plan is to stop him at the first level, because “you can’t let him get through to the second, third level, because he can take it the distance.

Moreover, Rallis said, “Dak can beat you dropping back, he can beat you throwing quick game, he can beat you play action boot, throwing in the pocket, throwing out of the pocket, throwing on time, not on time, extending plays. That’s hard to defend.” So the Cardinals are up for a good game on Sunday, and they’re devising plans to stop the rally of the opponent’s quarterback.
