The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had one heck of a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. As of now, this is the first loss that the Buccaneers had to face for the season. Everything was peaches and cream till that one moment when Mike Evans failed and the Buccs’ downfall started. Tampa Bay is still leading 2-1, but the outcome of today’s game might have been very different if it were not for that one miss.
Mike Evans was easily the person of interest because of the stellar one-handed catch that he made. Even after their WR got a couple of receptions and one receiving touchdown, the Buccaneers had a hard time catching up with the Eagles and Mike Evans might have been a reason behind it. He recently gave more clarification on the loss to a FOX Sports correspondent.

Mike Evans lost his vision
During the second quarter of the game, Mike Evans got blinded by the lights, and that led him to miss what was a very important moment. Baker Mayfield, the Buccaneers QB threw a pass to the WR. What looked like a sure-shot touchdown was deflected by Eagles’ rookie DB Sydney Brown. Apparently, the lights impaired Mike Evans’ vision and he saw the ball a bit later, saying “I got caught in the lights a little bit”. This gave Sydney Brown just enough time to drag Mike Evans down.
Mike Evans on his drop in end zone early on: "(The DB) got a hand on it, but I've got to catch that. I got caught in the lights a little bit, and I saw it last second. He recovered and hit my arm, but it's a play where I'm pretty much open. I've got to catch that."

Unfortunately, Sydney Brown was injured in the thigh and was escorted out mid-game in the first half. On top of this, his return looks questionable, and the extent of his injury hasn’t been disclosed yet. It was a very noticeable play by the rookie, blocking that end-zone touchdown pass did numbers for the Eagles. Not only this, but he also had two tackles in the game as well, in addition to the defended pass.
The Buccaneers are still ahead in terms of the games won, but the Eagles are doing way better with no losses. Can the Buccs make a comeback in the next game?
The Saints of New Orleans
The Tampa Bay squad will be heading over to the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans for their next game where Derek Carr and Chris Olave will be waiting for them with the whole team. What’s interesting is that the New Orleans Saints are suffering the same fate as the Buccaneers and have won 2 games with the skin of their teeth. They lost their last game with the Packers with just a single point.

The Saints stand second in the 2023 NFC South region after the Atlanta Falcons. The next game against the Buccaneers is important as it will decide their ranking in the NFC South. Current predictions favor the New Orleans Saints over the Buccaneers. However, both the teams are coming from a loss, so the desperation to win might lead to a very head-to-head game.
