The round-one pick from the 2021 NFL draft, linebacker Micah Parsons, is making waves in the league. Consistently performing week in and week out, by all means, he is leading the Dallas Cowboys defensive line. He has proven himself as the one to watch out for. But way before he came to the spotlight, head coach Mike McCarthy knew what was about to go down.

While talking to Rich Eisen, Coach McCarthy revealed that he understood immediately Parsons’ qualities.

Mike McCarthy praises ‘genetically gifted’ Micah Parsons

Currently placed No. 6 on ESPN’s top 100 NFL players for the 2023 season, Micah Parsons is in a different frame of mind. He stands with 42 solo tackles and 13.5 sacks to his name in the previous season, making him one of the best in the league. Cowboys Head Coach McCarthy was talking to Rich Eisen when Rich asked, “When did you first realised Micah Parsons was special?” To which the HC replied, I think the first time I saw him put his foot in the ground you know early in his time here and chase the quarterback.”

He highlighted the unique traits of Parsons’ game that make him special. “There’s just certain players that are genetically have more gifts than others and if you just see how he revs his body. His production output is just off the charts.” Not to mention his 4.39 seconds in the 40-yard dash which is tied for the second-fastest time for all linebackers or a 34-inch vertical, he is truly genetically gifted. Coach McCarthy also added, “He has the work ethic, loves football and is super competitive.”

As a matter of fact, when you see him cutting a corner and chasing down a quarterback, you can tell right away that he is different. He has the advantage and could be the greatest linebacker in the NFL. With his skills and gifts, he is bringing in tackles and sacks every game. The Cowboys are off to a great start this season, all thanks to Micah Parsons’ powered defense.

Parsons making a difference for a scintillating Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys are a team of Super Bowl caliber with QB Dak Prescott getting his rhythm back and defense firing on all cylinders. In the recently concluded game against the New York Jets, Parsons made two sacks on Zach Wilson, making it his 10th game with at least two sacks in his first three seasons. The Penn State alumni also forced a fumble and a fumble recovery.

Due to his recent exploits, the Cowboys are standing undefeated after the first three games of the season. Ever since he was drafted, he has been making an impact.
