The Giants‘ offensive line did not perform well in preventing the Dolphins from sacking Daniel Jones. This tied a record set 37 years ago in the NFL. However, it was the 10 sacks he endured that raised eyebrows across the league, and the number has significantly increased.

At the moment, the Giants are struggling, having not scored a regular touchdown in nearly 2.5 games. Their quarterback, Daniel Jones, is facing a lot of pressure, and they have given up the most sacks in two games since 1986.

According to ESPN NFL Nation reporter Jordan Raanan, who covers the New York Giants, he reported via X: “Some ridiculous Giants stats: — The Giants haven’t scored an offensive touchdown in 145 minutes. That’s almost 2.5 games.” He added, On Sunday, QB Daniel Jones faced pressure on 44% of his dropbacks.

And, the 6′ 5″ QB has encountered pressure 81 times this season, ranking third among all players through five games since ESPN began tracking pressures in 2009. Furthermore, they permitted 18 sacks in the last two games, setting a record as the most sacks allowed by any team in a two-game span since the ’86 Eagles.

Worth noting, in the game against the Seahawks, Jones became the 10th quarterback in the 21st century to take double-digit sacks in a game. Before the week 5 games, in just four games, Jones had been sacked 22 times, which is an average of 5.5 times per game.

If this trend continues, 26 YO Jones might break the record with 93.5 sacks this season, significantly more than the previous record of 76. But there’s more to shock!

Shockingly, according to PFF, in 2023, Giants QB Daniel Jones’ stats were subpar: he threw 151 times (ranking 19th in the league) for 892 yards (27th), with only 2 touchdowns (31st), and he had the most interceptions with 6 (1st place).
