The New York Giants are going through a bit of a rough patch right now. There is a huge problem with the offense lineup and Saquon Barkley is in the middle of it. The Giants have some injured players in their arsenal and their absence in the next game against the Seattle Seahawks might put the team in jeopardy. And with a tainted record, the future looks a bit bleak.

During all this, there is no immediate solution at hand for the Giants and they are keeping things in the dark. Thankfully Ian Rapoport shed some light on the situation, and we have a better clue about what to look for in the next Giants vs. Seahawks game. The situation is dire, to say the least.

Saquon Barkley’s questionable status

Rapoport recently uploaded a video on X (Formerly Twitter) diving into the injury reports of a couple of teams. One of those teams was the New York Giants. Barkley has an injured ankle and his participation in the next game seems unlikely and is a mystery at best. He suffered the injury back on Sept. 17 in the game against the Arizona Cardinals. The latest development is that he has been participating in the practice in a limited capacity.

Although Barkley is getting better steadily, we can’t expect him to play in the next game which is a few hours away. In addition to this, LT Andrew Thomas hasn’t been playing for a while. He suffered a hamstring injury and has missed 3 games as of now. His return also seems shoddy at best. But there is still a chance that Barkley might play, but he is keeping it a secret. Barkley too missed a game against the 49ers, which the Giants lost horribly.

As of now, Matt Breida is expected to take Barkley’s place and Joshua Ezeudu will take the field in lieu of Andrew Thomas.

Will Barkley return to help the losing Giants?

Barkley recently admitted that he liked to play football and not watch it from the sidelines. As of now, all we can say is that he is making his back contribution to return to the field. But he is not putting any pressure on his body to make things worse. “The reality of it is that, if I can go, if my body is telling me to go out there and play, then, yeah, that is what I’d like to do,”, said Barkley.

Coach Brian Daboll is also keeping secrets and hasn’t given a concrete answer to the question. Coach feels like Barkley is getting better but doesn’t want to pressure him to not exacerbate his injury. “Again, I never want to put a guy out there that is not ready to go. But he has gotten better. I think there is a chance, but we’ll see where it’s at.” Mentioned the coach.
