The Dallas Cowboys have made a rebound after their devastating loss against the San Francisco 49ers. The team experienced a lot of backlash from the NFL fans, as they lost with a 32-point lead, which is the twelfth worst loss in the franchise history. However, Dallas bounced back in Week 6, as they managed to secure a 20-17 win against the Los Angeles Chargers. Additionally, the trend still remained unbroken, since the Chargers were coming off a bye week.

For the last decade, the Los Angeles Chargers have never won or lost a game coming off a bye week in consecutive years. Last year, they had already won against the Atlanta Falcons. So, according to the trend, it means they would lose against the Cowboys. And that’s what happened? Besides that, the Cowboys QB Dak Prescott‘s performance also plays a major role in the Chargers’ loss.

Dak Prescott changes his critics to fans after showcasing his phenomenal plays throughout the game this week. He threw for 272 yards and a touchdown. So apart from a rushing TD under his belt, he also managed to make 21 out of the 30 passes during the game. After this game, he had his name written as the 30th quarterback in NFL history to make a touchdown pass against 31 or more opponents.

This moment occurred when Prescott threw the ball over to Brandin Cooks for a two-yard score with only 11 minutes and 19 seconds remaining on the clock. This play also got the Dallas Cowboys a lead of 17-10 over the Los Angeles Chargers. Not only this, he also evaded the pocket approaching and created a gap to throw the pass to Tony Pollard, who rushed for a 60-yard completion.

In recent years, the Dallas quarterback has been criticized for not being a playmaker, and has been called names like “pocket-passer” or “distributor“. But against the Chargers, he proved all of his critics and showed a different side of the player. But there was another player who provided the Cowboys the lead they needed for this game.

Brandon Aubrey locked the win for his team

After the 17-10 lead, the Chargers also tried to answer their opponents. They emulated the strategy and Justin Herbert also went for a touchdown pass to Gerald Everett and tied the game to 17-17. After this play, the placekicker Brandon Aubrey took matters in his legs per se and made two field goals with a 39-yarder at 2 minutes and 19 seconds remaining in the clock.

After this, Herbert tried to send the game to overtime, but Stephen Gilmore picked off the QB and sealed the victory. In the next play, Micah Parsons sacked Herbert for an eight-yard loss, and thus the Dallas Cowboys redeemed themselves off the Niners’ loss. Prescott stated in the post-game interview that this was definitely a “must-win” for them. Besides this, he even talked about the failed tush-push play during the game.
