The Eagles made a major announcement this Tuesday. The former Falcon wide receiver Julio Jones joined the Eagles’ practicing squad on Tuesday afternoon, confirming his presence with the Super Bowl LVII contenders. Jones was a free agent when the Eagles joined hands with him this season. The seven-time Pro Bowl Jones is set to fill up the vacant position of reserved Quez Watkins, owing to his hamstring injury.

Hence, Jones will be the number 3 Eagles receiver once he is promoted to the active roster from the 53-men practice rooster. However, that won’t take long, as the 34-year-old holds some impressive accolades from his 12-year-long NFL journey. As Jones steps into his new team, the Eagles have a heartwarming surprise planned for him.

Julio Jones is one of the best players in the history of the Crimson Tide. The Tides wide receiver was a major favorite in his college career. Bringing the 13-year-old nostalgia back, as a sweet welcome gift, the Eagles have six other former Crimson Tide players waiting for him. QB Jalen Hurts, Landon Dickerson, Josh Jobe, Eli Ricks, DeVonta Smith, and Tyler Steen are anticipating another commendable Crimson Tide member to join them. After Jones’ official joining, it is safe to say that the Eagles are fans of Alabama players as they have the highest number of roosted Alabama players in the league.

Jones had played the previous seasons with the Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers subsequently. The receiver scored his first 100 yards, with six receptions, in his freshman year itself, against Tides’ rivals Tennessee. Following this, the numbers just kept rising. Later Jones was awarded SEC Freshman of the Year. Later, Jones concluded his junior season with 78 catches and 1,133 yards along with seven touchdowns.
