Jalen Hurts took a step back to avoid the pocket approaching and passed the ball to the center, sealing the game. Unfortunately, not for the Philadelphia Eagles, but instead for their opponent, New York Jets. The pass made for Dallas Goedert was intercepted by Tony Adams, who launched the ball to Breece Hall, who took it to the end zone and locked the winning score of 20-14. This was the first loss of the Philadelphia Eagles in the season and also the first loss against the Jets in the past 12 games over 50 years.
The Eagles committed a lot of turnovers and sloppy plays, so much so that they lost a valuable asset in the first quarter of ‘Sunday Night Football’. Lane Johnson suffered a high ankle sprain against the Jets and had to leave the field mid-game. This definitely made the head coach look at the substitute right tackle with hope in his eyes.

Right after the injury of Lane Johnson, Jake Driscoll stepped on the field for him. However, his presence wasn’t enough for the impeccable Jets defense. Before this, Johnson was also subjugated to left ankle injuries back in 2018, and then he had to undergo surgery in 2020 when the problem persisted. So it could be a concern for the Eagles offensive tackle.
But, the head coach, Nick Sirianni, was unable to give any update on his health. He said, “I haven’t even met the doctors yet so we’ll see, I don’t have any information.” Furthermore, he talked about how he had high hopes for Driscoll and that he’ll have to go through the tapes to see how he actually played on the field.
He added, “I’ll look at the tapes, see how I felt like Jack played but I know that we’ve won a lot of games here with him. Obviously, whenever you lose a player like Lane, you know, Lane’s one of the best players in the NFL and so you’re going to obviously miss that.”

As it turned out, the Eagles looked to be entirely different without the presence of Lane Johnson on the field. At the same time, the Jets also understood that this was a “big win” for them.

Jets’ Head Coach talks about embarrassing the top quarterbacks
After the game, the New York Jets were astonished that they were the ones who managed to break the unbeaten streak of the Eagles this season. In the post-game interview, the head coach Robert Saleh shared his thoughts and revealed that he believes his team can turn the tables at any point in time.
He said, “These first six weeks, we played a gauntlet of quarterbacks and I know we haven’t gotten all wins, but we’ve embarrassed all of them.” They couldn’t do the same with the Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott who had them entangled with 255 yards and two touchdowns. Still, Saleh said, “It’s a big win. They’re NFC Champs.” Later, he also added, “I think we’ll always be in these games. I think we can go toe-to-toe with anybody.”
