Recently, before their match on Monday night, the 5X Pro Bowl winner posted about how he respects the Super Bowl champion, Mike Evans. The contributor for the Eagles, Zach Berman, posted about this on his X (Formerly Twitter) account. He captioned the post saying that Evans reminds Slay of himself on offense. The CB calls Evans “Mr. Consistent.” He further explained that initially, he got that nickname on defense from many defensive guys, but he’s giving that nickname to Evans on offense.

The player also pointed out how Evans manages to cross 1,000 yards every year without fail. Slay said, “If he continues to keep playing, he’ll break a lot of great receivers’ records. Right now, he’s probably at 10,000 in 10 years. That’s crazy.” Slay added that he’s quite impressed with all the skills the player possesses including being a deep threat, a good catch, and many more.

He also mentioned that Evans is frequently overlooked as one of the top players, a situation he understands well from his time in Detroit. He said, “When I was in Detroit for a long time, I was getting overlooked as one of the best….We got similarities to a lot of stuff.” The CB ended his words of praise by saying that he could be throwing a ball and Evans could be a 1,000-yard receiver. Slay is very open about his thoughts online, recently he also reacted to Mac Jones and Sauce Gardner’s feud.
