Despite Standing Near Patrick Mahomes’ And Russell Wilson, Underrated QB Jared Goff Lets His Game Do All Talking

The Detroit Lions are doing quite well for themselves. They are now 4-1 and stand first in the NFC North. Well, maybe it’s because of Eminem who’s there to cheer for them from the sideline. Or maybe it is because of Jared Goff who’s not paid due credit for his heroics in the past few games. He is nothing short of competing with the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson and is there in the top 10 QBs for sure.

Recently NFL released the quarterback ratings for week 6 of the NFL regular season, and Jared Goff has secured his place among the ranks of Brock Purdy as well. Goff is having a phenomenal season so far. But there is more to the QB1 than meets the eye. He got Los Angeles City’s relentless support but is now on the way to earning Detroit’s trust.

Jared Goff knows who he is

Jared Goff is a leader, to say the least. A video from Woodwork Sports sheds more light on what he does to keep the guys motivated pre-game. The video shows Jared Goff in a huddle saying, “It’s not gonna be perfect, it’s not, go to work, make plays, and know who the f*** you are”.

All this does is show us how much Goff knows his teammates and trusts them. This idea of looking at each other and having a sort of telepathic connection on the field may be the reason why the Lions are the king of the jungle.

The Lions have drastically improved with Jared Goff on the front lines. In the game against the Panthers, he had 3 touchdowns and a completion rate of 71.4% with 20 completed passes over 236 yards. He hasn’t been sacked more than twice in 5 consecutive games. Currently, the Lions are on a 3-win streak and are going to play the Buccaneers soon.

Amid all this, there is all this chatter about who is the best QB after the 49ers demolished the Cowboys in Sunday’s game.

The NFL community in two minds

Goff has garnered mixed reactions from the NFL community. The divide seems to be nothing major, but people are debating about his place in the top 10 quarterbacks list. While Brock Purdy is sitting on the throne, others are in line behind him. But ESPN rates Goff at 5 position in the NFL, but there are other speculations and people are not taking to the list kindly, especially after the NFL’s Week 6 ratings.

He even got respect from the Buccaneers’ star QB Baker Mayfield when he mentioned “He’s a stud” as the press approached him. His answer was quick and he didn’t think for a second before saying those words.

So there is no debate that Jared Goff is up there at the top among the likes of Purdy, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and even Tua Tagovailoa.
