The Dallas Cowboys are slowly reinforcing their offense and defense team. First, there were rumors about Kyle Pitts being sent to the Cowboys, but as it turns out, those were just rumors. But Trey Lance playing with Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys is not a rumor. It is a career revival of the Niner’s dejected quarterback instead. Although he will be playing in the shadow of Dak Prescott, the QB has massive opportunities ahead of him in the Dallas franchise.

The Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy recently appeared in a press conference where he gave his two cents ahead of the New England Patriots battle. He has his own opinions about the No.3 QB, but they are all good and Lance is up there in McCarthy’s books as of now. Will his trust be in vain?

The press conference brought up the question of Trey Lance. The reporter asked the HC if there were any changes that the team had to go through to adjust to Lance. Inquiring whether this decision to add Lance this late is well thought out or not. But the HC feels confident about Lance’s abilities and says that being the 3 quarterback comes with its own responsibilities in terms of projects.

He asserted the fact that the timing of his arrival wasn’t exactly favorable for anyone and that Lance must practice a lot to catch up with the Cowboys’ offense. Lance’s focus right now is to put in as much overtime as possible to learn the Cowboys’ offense lingo and work on his body mechanics to be a well-suited player for the Cowboys. He has been compliant so far to fit in with the Dallas team.

“He’s doing well, I’m glad that he’s here” added the HC when he was asked for feedback on Lance.

Is Dak Prescott in trouble?

There is an existing debate that Dak Prescott might be in trouble because of this strategic employment. But that is far from true. One of the main reasons is that the numbers just don’t add up. Another reason is that this is going to be Trey Lance’s first game for the season. Also, Lance admitted that he wishes to be Prescott’s disciple and learn from him.

Trey Lance has had an extensive run during his college career and his time with the San Francisco 49ers. Although we can’t comment on his performance right now, it is safe to say that the Cowboys have revived his career since he didn’t get to play a lot due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Right now, for Lance, it is about performing rather than redeeming himself because he might not have that kind of time on his hands.
