The Dallas Cowboys must redeem themselves after the devastating loss in their last games. At one point, the Cowboys fans had some hopes, when they defeated the New England Patriots with a 35-point gap after their first loss, but at the same time, they didn’t have any answer to the offensive line of the San Francisco 49ers. However, there’s still good news for Dallas as they can prove themselves yet again in their upcoming game.

In the Week 6 matchup, the Cowboys are going to face the 2-2 Los Angeles Chargers. Currently, the Chargers are on their two-game winning streak, so it’s yet to be seen whether the Cowboys will be able to break that momentum or not. Both teams have a lot of players listed in their injury reports, but the Chargers definitely have some tricks cards up their sleeves.

Despite 10 players being on the Chargers’ Injury report, four of them may still play against the Cowboys. Getting a week off to heal the injuries apparently can do wonders for some players. The most expected ones are Pass rusher Joey Bosa, Safety Derwin James, and Running Back, Austin Ekeler. These three may give their attendance on the field, even though they were nowhere to be seen last week.

Among these, the RB Austin Ekeler could be a challenge for the opponent. With 550 yards rushing and 645 yards receiving in the same year, he’s considered a great dual threat in the league. However, he has not been a part of his team for the last three games, but he’s announced his return to face the Cowboys. The former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore, will also be on the field in the Chargers’ jersey.

Not only this, the opposite team of the Cowboys also has the star quarterback Justin Herbert calling every shot. He’s currently passing 276 yards in every game on average and threw 7 touchdowns against one interception. He’s at the 71% completion rate, the highest of his career. So, he could definitely pose a problem for the defensive lineup of the Cowboys. Still, the former NFL player picked the Cowboys QB Dak Prescott over him. But, there’s one interesting fact that works in the favor of the Dallas Cowboys. What is it?

The Chargers’ ‘Bye Week’ trend could get the Dallas Cowboys a win

Over the last decade, the Los Angeles Chargers haven’t won or lost two games back-to-back coming off a bye week in two consecutive years. Each year, in the specific games after the bye they have alternate results. This has been going on since their 2008 and 2009 campaigns.

Interestingly, in the past 2022 season, the Chargers had won against the Atlanta Falcons coming off their bye week. Now in Week 6, they’re also coming off their bye week, and if the trend follows, they may lose to the Cowboys. So it’s going to be interesting to witness whether the curse of the bye week still persists in the 2023 season.
