Everybody is talking about the Dallas Cowboys these days and it doesn’t seem it’s going to stop anytime soon. However, the 49ers’ side of the story also has its own quirks. There is a reason the San Francisco 49ers are arguably one of the best teams in the NFL. And even more so, it is people like Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey who push the 49ers’ standard as a team even higher.

Following the victory, the 2019 Pro Bowler, Kyle Juszczyk appeared in the Richard Sherman podcast to discuss more about his and the 49ers’ side of the story. An anecdote about McCaffrey surfaces that gives more insight into the 49ers winning culture.

Christian McCaffrey ‘trains’ harder

At some point in the podcast, Richard Sherman brings up Christian McCaffrey, and the fullback didn’t run out of words to say about the Running Back. Sherman mentions how McCaffrey’s contributions transcend way beyond his talent on the field. He has adjusted to the 49ers quickly and Kyle Shanahan is figuring out the best course for CMC. Juszczyk mentions CMC’s work ethic and says, ‘The guy works harder than anybody I know and is harder on himself than anybody I know, Christian McCaffrey is Christian McCaffrey’s biggest critic’

Juszczyk doesn’t stop singing his praises and goes on to say that CMC pushes himself no matter what. Even after achieving mind-blowing stats, McCaffrey still tries to work himself to find his weakness and fix it. This inspires others around him to train even harder and get the 49ers up a notch. Well, it reflected so well in the game against the Dallas Cowboys. The 42-10 score is not a joke by any means, even though Kyle Shanahan thinks it should have been even higher.

Shanahan recently mentioned in a podcast that a play they were trying to make since the first half didn’t come to fruition till the last quarter. All this shows how diligent the 49ers are at their job.

After obliterating the Cowboys, the 49ers are at new heights of publicity. Especially Brock Purdy, who took the team to 10 consecutive wins while in doing so, marking his place beside Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. He is rated the No. 1 QB in the NFL, maybe because of his abilities as a QB, and how precise his passes are. His ability to keep an eye on everything is astounding. Add George Kittle to the conversation after he scored 3 debut touchdowns in a single game. It seems like the 49ers were prepared for the outcome in advance.

Speaking of records, McCaffrey isn’t short of stats either. McCaffrey had a streak of scoring a touchdown in 13 consecutive games and in doing so, broke the record Jerry Rice set in 1980. In the previous game against the Arizona Cardinals, CMC scored 3 touchdowns in the first half of the game and was singlehandedly responsible for the big win.
