On October 15, 2023, before the game, Adam Schefter on X posted the Buccaneers’ plan for their upcoming match against the Lions. “Buccaneers will wear their Creamsicle uniforms and these helmets today for the first time in a game since 2012.” The team will be wearing their orange, white, and red uniforms for their ‘Throwback to Give Back’ event.

It was when the NFL implemented its one-shell rule that the team has not been able to wear their alternate kits since 2012. Fortunately, due to the elimination of the rule last year, every team now has an alternate kit and is also utilizing new colored helmets. Thus, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also needed to pull off their throwback look perfectly.
