Sad news comes in as Adam Schefter shares the news about Cardinals’ RB1 who was injured in the week 5 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. According to the current evaluation, Conner is being checked for any knee injuries. He rushed for 35 yards and went 14 yards deep into the Bengals’ territory when this happened. It was halfway through the second quarter when this happened, and Conner was seen jogging to the locker room, accompanied by a trainer. As of now, he is watching the game from the sidelines, with his helmet on, but his return remains questionable at best.

It’s sad that this happened, especially when the Cardinals are doing decent for themselves. In addition to this, Conner has been the offensive backbone of the Cardinals, and now that he is taken away from them, the Bengals might just have a chance. What’s interesting is that Joe Burrow is also playing in this game as he returned after a calf injury that he recently sustained. Coming back to Conner, he was having an interesting run in this game, but sadly, his luck would have other things in store for him.
So what now for the Cardinals?
It’s safe to say that the Arizona Cardinals have suffered a huge blow after this injury because having James Conner makes all the difference for the team. Before he got injured, he carried the ball 6 times over 46 yards against the Bengals. The Bengals are in the lead right now and it seems the Cardinals would be chasing the Bengals for quite sometimes especially with Burrow on their side.

All we can hope for is an insane comeback because the Cardinals don’t exactly have a backup for Conner. Right now, they are just shifting some players around to see what works. At this point, Conner and the Cardinals can just take a backseat and let the team take over till they call for a time-out. Both teams are struggling with their positions in the NFC as of now.
