The Dallas Cowboys are picking up their pace and are back on track following the win in the Red Kettle Kickoff against the Chargers. This game came as an occasion for the Cowboys as they redeem themselves from the past and also do their part to serve the community. The Dak Prescott and Cowboys slander can finally rest as they come out of the game with a nail-biting 20-17 victory. Brandin Cooks is finally showing off his true colors and it couldn’t be more appropriate of a timing.
The game day was special for Brandin Cooks because he might have gotten himself a permanent seat in the richest sports franchise and, on top of that, he was one of the key reasons as to why Dallas won the game. A post from the NFL shares Brandin’s best bit.

The video shows the game in its last leg with the Cowboys in possession of the ball. It was on 2 and goal, 11 minutes 28 seconds remained on the clock when Dak Prescott decided to lob the ball to Brandin Cooks, who caught it as it counted as a receiving touchdown. This marked his first touchdown for the Dallas Cowboys. His touchdown gave the Cowboys a much-needed lead as the scoreboard flipped to 16-10 the Cowboys way.

Before the game, Cooks had 9 receptions over 73 yards in the 4 games that he had played with the Cowboys so far. This game makes it a total of 109 yards with 13 receptions and a receiving touchdown to his name. In this game against the Chargers, he had 36 yards to his name with 4 receptions, averaging 9 yards per reception. He also received 3 first downs which made it easier for the Cowboys to move further.
So far, Cooks has played 5 games and has received 13 out of 23 passes that were sent his way with just a single touchdown and a fumble this year. So far, Cooks has done an impressive job for the Cowboys, maybe because they trusted him from the start.
A trust that goes a long way
Cooks is an NFL veteran who has been playing in the league since 2014. This is the 5 team that the wide receiver is playing with and it’s his first season with the team. What’s strange about this is, that despite the Cowboys having access to such an arsenal, they didn’t use Cooks much for the first 5 weeks. It came after the 49ers loss that the Cowboys finally decided to give Cooks more time on the field. His touchdown was nothing short of epic as he heroically caught the ball mid-air and stayed suspended for a while.
“The trust that Dak had in me to be able to throw it up and expect me to make play, shout out to my guy Dak and shout out to the team that for just battling tonight,” told Cooks to Taylor Bisciotti.
