In a short video shared by Ari Meirov, who covers the NFL on X formerly called Twitter, Claypool was asked if he is being utilized properly by his team so, far into the season, WR Chase Claypool shook his head and said “no.

This comment from Claypool came after he faced backlash for not giving his best during an opener against the Green Bay Packers. His play wasn’t looking good during the game. Post-game The coaches discussed it with him, and later he apologized to his coaches and teammates. The Bear’s season so far is disturbing on and off the field as QB Justin Fields also showed his concerns with the coaching after the Tampa Bay loss.

Claypools struggle with the Bears

Claypool has been struggling to score big since he was traded to the Bears in November 2022. In 10 games, he has only caught 18 passes for 191 yards and one touchdown.

Currently, Claypool has 4 catches with 51 yards in three matches while last season he was ahead of his game with 46 receptions for 451 yards and a touchdown in 16 games. These stats are still low for a WR who had more than 800 receiving yards in both the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Expectations were high for the Bears this season, but the team currently sitting winless three weeks into the season shows their winning momentum is still not found yet. In the only last game, the Bears were thrashed by Taylor Swift’s favorite Kansas City Chief with an unforgettable 10-41 defeat.

The question that lingers is whether the Bears will give fair chance to Claypool to show his skills and turn adversity into opportunity. Can the Chicago Bears tear through this storm and emerge stronger, or are they bound for many more disappointments?
