What a win that Seattle Seahawks had against the New York Giants. It’s like the Jets and the Giants are laughingstocks of the NFL these days. The Seahawks added to the humiliation after defeating the Giants 24-3. Peyton and Eli Manning were so bored that they had to resort to making butt jokes throughout the game to keep everyone amused in the MNF. The credit for this win has a lot to do with the Seahawks QB Geno Smith.
The Pro Bowler did wonders for the Seahawks even after an alleged dirty play by the Giants QB. Though the Seahawks are playing the Cincinnati Bengals in the next game, for some reason, Colin Cowherd wants to have a debate about who is better. Geno Smith or Kirk Cousins. He made a convincing case against Kirk Cousins in the recent episode of ‘The Volume’.
Geno Smith is one of a kind

Colin Cowherd subtly speaks his mind about the Geno Smith scenario. He started by pointing out how Smith has been bouncing around from team to team and eventually became a Pro Bowler. ‘It just doesn’t happen’ pointed out Cowherd. He went on to compare Geno Smith with Kirk Cousins. While Kirk Cousins fluctuates between no. 12 and 13 in the quarterback ratings, doesn’t give enough reason to the host to side with him. He thinks that Geno Smith is younger, he is bigger, and has better athletic mobility. To top it all off, he comes at a lower price tag than Kirk Cousins.
Cowherd had made his choice and stuck to Geno Smith over Cousins for the reasons that he mentioned. The host has strong opinions about the Minnesota QB and said that the Vikings should consider moving from Cousins because he is not mobile at all and ‘folds like a deck chair’ when he is hit. There is a stark difference between the athletic abilities of these QBs. It is because Smith is the same height as Cousins and has more weight than him. Despite this, Smith is quicker and has better numbers than the Vikings QB.

It’s also notable that despite being superior to Kirk Cousins, Smith is not getting nearly enough pay. Cowherd adds to the narrative as to how the league expects the QBs to be mature from an early age, which Smith might not have been for various reasons. The silver lining here is that he is slowly crafting his own space in the league.

He showed his caliber in the game against the Giants, where he scored a touchdown and passed over 100 yards. Although these numbers are not as big as some of the more venerated QBs out there, Geno is starting from somewhere. He already secured his rank as a Pro Bowler, so we know there is some substance behind him.
