The 49ers pulled off an excellent performance against one of the best teams in the NFL. On Thursday Night Football, the team outscored the New York Giants in their 13th straight regular season game with a score of 30-12. Many popular analysts speculate this to be a result of the absence of Saquon Barkley from the Giants. Whereas analysts like Pat McAfee credit it to the game-changers from the 49ers.

People like McAfee are tough to impress, mostly because of the first-hand experience they have. But the wide receiver of the Niners displayed an exemplary performance, even getting back from the medics towards the end of the game, to help the team win with a proud score. As a result, he was successful in getting a shout-out, the least to say, from McAfee.

The former Indianapolis Colts punter took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share his praise for the star of the show of 49ers vs. Giants. He hailed the 27-year-old for his huge contribution to the game. McAfee wrote, “Deebo’s a YAC gawd.. always has been.. always will be.”  Along with him, other popular pages and people chipped in to agree to the statement.

McAfee praised Samuel for his epic Yards After Catch (YAC) score. As was undeniable in the game, Deebo covered a significant distance after a number of catching a pass throughout the game. As per NFL, Samuel dominated with his 81 YAC score. And not-so-surprisingly, his score of 9.8 YAC per reception is the highest among all NFL wide receivers. These numbers are a clear indicator of why McAfee hailed him as the “YAC Gwad”.

However, it was not only the YAC score of Samuel that led to his wide-spread appreciation post-match. It was also about the epic 129-yard coverage at Levi’s Stadium. Not forgetting that this was the first time Deebo trailed his first 100 yards since his last season. In the second half, Samuel completed 129 yards in just 6 catches AND a touchdown.

With a solid gameplay like this, Samuel surely won many hearts on Thursday night. Along with him, his teammates gave equally commendable performances. Quarterback Purdy went for 310 yards with two touchdowns. Whereas running back McCaffrey did 85 yards with one touchdown.
