The Super Bowl LVII was a night to remember. Patrick Mahomes and his squad bagged the ultimate win against the Philadelphia Eagles. Before the thrilling game, the league had prepared a lively lineup of singers and performers to keep the audience entertained. One such artist was Jason Derulo. The artist who has sold 250 million singles worldwide is known for his elaborate dance performances. However, at the Super Bowl pregame event, the singer/songwriter managed to freak out his viewers.
Derulo performed at the NFL’s TikTok Tailgate event. It was to get fans in the mood for an energetic and outstanding matchup. But the plan backfired. There were not only human backup dancers on the stage but also men’s best friends. Yes, dogs! The sight of dogs would make someone go ‘aww!’ However, exactly the opposite of that happened.

We all know what the fans thought about the silver, skimpy legged choreographed robotic dogs. Derulo sang ‘Talk Dirty’ then moved forward on the stage to sing his David Guetta collaboration ‘Saturday/Sunday.’ Joining him were his dancers and robotic dogs who bust out some moves of their own. As the 33-year-old singer did his complex choreography, the robotic dogs did a series of coordinated pushups.
Someone would normally love to see a dog gyrate, but people did not have that kind of reaction. They were mostly creeped out by the silly-looking robotic creatures. Some compared the unusual innovation to being like an episode of ‘Black Mirror.’

I finally understand why I don't like those robots:
They don't look like dogs at all. They look like robot dog-spider hybrids and that's what makes it unsettling.

Is this what Aldous Huxley imagined the world to be when he wrote ‘American War: A Novel’?
This is so goddamn dystopian. Kinda happy I haven’t watched any of this all day. 💀 https://t.co/OBRUBD48Ow

Maybe we are living in the world the dystopian writers wrote about.

Well, the robotic dogs may grow on us if we give them the chance to.
This is how they get the rubes. "OH, look at those cute robot dogs." https://t.co/dxNuFH31k4

Many fans were not particularly happy about Rihanna’s halftime performance and it looks like even the robotic dogs could not make the viewers happy. Even though the dogs crept many fans out, the self-proclaimed ‘King of TikTok’ made sure that his performance went popular.
