It is visibly clear that the end is near for Aaron Rodgers as an NFL quarterback. Although he is still available for three more seasons, Rodgers might announce retirement anytime in the foreseeable future.
So, there is a need to find his successor and foster him to adapt to the Green Bay culture. Speaking honestly, there are only a few prospects in the current list of active players and getting them for the upcoming season looks improbable.
Meanwhile, his backup, Jordan Love, is speculated to step up; however, there are uncertainties about his capabilities as a starter. Even though he fared against some of the weak defenses, experts claim that elevating him to a full-time gig might hurt the Packers. Analyst Colin Cowherd recently discussed this issue and hinted at Rodgers’ return to wearing a Green and Gold jersey again.
He mentioned that having succession plans for elite QBs in the league is unrealistic, taking references to Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. “Do you really ever have a succession plan for Brady in his prime, or Mahomes, or burrow?” Cowherd asked.” You just roll with your star. If the biggest problem in your organization is you know, ‘we don’t have a succession plan for a Hall of Fame quarterback who’s still great, it ain’t a problem in the NFL.” he explained, giving his full support for the veteran.
