As many people know, the 2022-23 NFL season was not kind to Aaron Rodgers. The star quarterback faced numerous losses and was finally edged out of the race to playoffs when the Green Bay Packers lost against the Detroit Lions. Life after the losses was not fun either. Fans and analysts are throwing blame and dig at the former Super Bowl-winning quarterback. Recently, a Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end slammed Rodgers because of his MVP remarks.
A-Rod appeared on ‘The Pat McAfee Podcast’. He is a regular guest there. The fame-loving QB talks about everything under the sun there. After he played his last game of the season, it was time for him to reflect on the moments that passed in vain this season. The elite QB thought that he has more years to himself and can play for longer with the Packers or elsewhere.

Although it was a quite normal discussion that Rodgers had with Pat McAfee, a comment he made stood out the most. It became so publicized that the four-time Super Bowl-winning TE, Rob Gronkowski, reacted to it. The same comment got the great Shannon Sharpe livid on his popular show, UNDISPUTED.

On his show, Sharpe discussed or rather ranted about the indifferent behavior of A-Rod. The Super Bowl-winning tight end did not like that the 39-year-old QB is only aiming for the MVPs.

According to him, his goal should be a Super Bowl championship and not an individual award. Although Rodgers won the MVP awards back-to-back with a gap in-between, it shows for nothing. That is because he did not win a Super Bowl.
“It’s always something and at some point in time, Green Bay and he talking about ‘Oh, I embraced the role of being the villain.’ People don’t think you’re a villain. People think you’re a backside hole because of the way you conduct yourself. That’s what people think… He just irks me. He just makes my skin crawl because he just selfish,” Sharpe said.

Hence, Rodgers managed to get insulted by the talented Sharpe because he chose an individual award over a team award.
