Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami offense are taking the team to their former glory days. The Miami Dolphins have won their last five regular-season games this season and look to be front runners to face the no. 1 seeded Kansas City Chiefs, for the AFC championship. However, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel had a lot to say about Tua’s technical roots.

The former NFL offensive coordinator and current Dolphins HC put the microphones on along with his quarterback, Tua, at the Dolphins-Texans game on Sunday. And there were some interesting conversations on the Miami sideline. Especially about Tua Tagovailoa’s pre-NFL skill set and his bad technique.
Tua Tagovailoa has reached his maximum potential this season after the arrival of Mike McDaniel. Following a series of inconsistencies in the 2021 campaign, the quarterback from Hawaii has become the team’s key offensive weapon alongside their star wide receivers. Tyreek Hill came in and made the Miami Dolphins legitimate Super Bowl contenders. However, HC McDaniel thinks Tua has come a long way from his St. Louis High School days in Honolulu.
Mike McDaniel was studying high-school Tua Tagovailoa in the middle of the night
In the 2022 season, Tua Tagovailoa is in the race to be the league’s MVP. Tua has almost matched his passing yards from the last season after only Week 12 of this season. His 19 touchdowns this year have also crossed his 16 from 2021. And the QB achieved this while recording three times fewer interceptions. The 24-year-old from Alabama was a top 5 prospect before the 2020 draft and went for the no.5 pick eventually. His current head coach called his old technique trash. Fans loved the banter between the HC and their QB.
Call me a casual Mike McDanials enjoyer as a Bills fan.

McDaniel is super smart. Watching Tua’s high school highlights in the middle of the night? Coach is scheming and sending a message that he is going to build off that success and what made Tua a very good QB. I like it. “Your technique was trash” was the throwaway line. Slick.

Mike and Tua were joking around on the sidelines during the 35-10 win against the Houston Texans. “I YouTube-d you. And saw this Trent Dilfer thing showing all this high school s—- from you. And bro, your technique was trash,” the former San Francisco 49ers OC said.
All Hard Knocks should just be Dolphins from now on or follow McDaniel's if he ever leaves. Dude is just different and its fun to watch.

I really like mike mcdaniel. Dude always sounds like he’s drunk. But he’s a great coach. I love it.

Detroit needs a HC like this who will tell it how it is and especially to the QB since it's the most important position on the field but then again he coddles Jerrd Gawf and the Ford's still and will always own the Lions so never mind, carry on…
Untill Sean Payton?Owners suck

I know a lot of other Bills fans are going to continue to hate on Tua and the Dolphins but this is a great thing for the AFC East in the long term. Not going to be surprised if the division isn't decided until the final week of the season.

Tua couldn’t control his laughter and asked if it missed his current rhythm and timing. Mike jokingly replied that even though the present style was somewhat present, “but yeah, you were stressed out.”
