Yet another school shooting incident left the nation horrified and begging for change. This week it was the area of Nashville that mourned the loss of six lives, including three nine-year-old kids from the traumatic episode on Monday. Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key is fed up with the gun violence and tearfully pleaded for an end to this, during his most recent press conference.

The Covenant Presbyterian School in Nashville turned into a battlefield of chaos and cries as a former 28-year-old student opened fire with two assault-style rifles and a handgun on the premises. And for Brent, the tragedy hit home more since he has a schoolteacher for a mother and a school-going daughter at home.

Brent Key didn’t want to dwell on various political and religious arguments involved in the media headlines. However, he hopes for some change. “My mom was a third-grade schoolteacher her whole career. I have a four-year-old daughter. She is about to be five and was at a school play when that happened. I can’t even like, the whole rest of the day, my wife cried four or five times during the day,” Key said in his Wednesday press conference.

Something has to change,” he added. “Please, do something. Whoever listens to this, send it somewhere else. Send it to somebody. Let’s all do something together to help. This is the most heartbreaking thing in the world, to think about your daughter going to school, where she is supposed to be safe and protected,” Key said.

Key wasn’t the only one to address the shooting
