Mac Jones had the time of his life during the first Pro Bowl game of his NFL career. He enjoyed his heart out in almost every snap and made the stadium roll on the floor in laughter after doing the Griddy in the end zone for a touchdown run that didn’t count. Surely, that was the highlight of the day.

However, in a recent clip, it was revealed that breaking the Griddy wasn’t just an impromptu idea that popped into the rookie quarterback’s head. In fact, it was a suggestion made by his fellow quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, while they were in the tunnel.

Patrick Mahomes influencing Mac Jones to do the Griddy

“You gotta swag it out at the end. You Griddy out there this place is goin’ nuts,” Mahomes told Jones. “I don’t know how to Griddy. I tried like eight times. I’m like I can’t figure it out. Gonna have to just run by people when they do it.”

The crowd actually did go “nuts”, but the only difference was that it was not about the celebration. It was because the entire 71-yard run by the rookie quarterback came to no good since the touchdown wasn’t even given. However, if it wasn’t for that run, the crowd wouldn’t have seen Jones pull off a dance that even Mahomes couldn’t.
