The Aaron Rodgers saga has finally come to a conclusive end. After dedicating 18 seasons to the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers is officially with the New York Jets, reuniting him with his former teammate and WR Allen Lazard. Following the footsteps of Packers legend Brett Favre, the 39-year-old Rodgers will now play out his career in New York. After an 18-year run with the Packers, a rift occurred between the QB and the organization. This led to the QB getting booted from the playoffs in 2022, which was A-Rod’s final season with the team.
Now, during Rodgers’ introductory press conference in New York, the 4X MVP QB opened up about why there was no direct communication between him and the Packers, shutting down GM Brian Gutekunst after his remarks on Rodgers not being in touch with them.

During the introductory press conference, they questioned Rodgers about the possible reasons why Brian Gutekunst said that when they tried to reach out to him, he didn’t respond. Rodgers’s agent, David Dunn, was the person who was at the forefront of the whole negotiation, finally leading to his successful move to New York.
To this, Rodgers replied by saying, “I don’t know if I really need to get into the specifics. I will say people that know me, I’m fortunate enough to live in a beautiful house. The only downside is I have very limited cell service. So if you want to get a hold of me, I have to see your face. You got to FaceTime me. So my only response to the communication thing is, there’s records in your phone, about who called you, when, FaceTime, and there wasn’t any specific facetimes for many of those numbers that I was looking at.”

This seems to point to the fact that Aaron Rodgers not having strong cell service is the main reason why his agent handled the negotiations directly. His comments come after Packers GM talked about how there was no communication with the QB directly during his trade negotiations.
Did things end on a bad note between the Packers and A-Rod?
Recently in a press meet, they asked Brian Gutekunst about being in touch with the Packers legend directly. To this, the GM said that he was in touch with David Dunn, who is Rodgers’s agent rather than directly communicating with the QB. This kind of hints at the possibility of things not ending well between the QB and the franchise, where he played almost the entirety of his career. It also points toward the possible strained relationship A-Rod shares with Green Bay after wishing to play for the Jets.

But the Packers have already moved on from A-Rod with Jordan Love. Now, the only thing remaining for fans is to wait in anticipation to see whether Aaron Rodgers shines for the Jets, or will he just have a mediocre season ahead before deciding to hang up his cleats in the league.
